Why don’t Christian churches run on a democratic basis instead of a dictatorship?

Christians should hold elections every four years to elect their leader and most importantly, they should have a say in how their church spends the money given to it by the congregation, right? Yeah right, as if a bunch of sheep get any say in who their shepherd is, right? They were born sheep and they’ll die sheep…baah, baah!
