What do you think about using torture just to get someone to say there was a al Qaida link to Iraq?

When the torture was authorized it was illegal and immoral. However, some of the people who authorized it may have had a sincere belief they would get valuable intelligence. They had to have realized early on that they were not getting true answers from the victims, and after that time, the torture was continued out of pure sadism and hatred. It is very sick, I agree.
